Week 7

Warm Up Activity 1: Dice Game

Grab 2 dice, playing pieces and print off this honeycomb game board. Roll 2 dice, add up the total and move your player.

Choose your own rules for the honey pot. Here are some ideas:

  • Get stuck and lose a turn.
  • Roll 1 dice and move backwards that amount. 
  • Go back to the beginning.
  • Switch places with any other player on the board, even if that means going backwards. 

 

Warm Up Activity 2: Flip to Make Groups

  1. Find some things to count (noodles, lego, forks, beans, marbles, etc. Whatever you have at home). 
  2. Mix up the blue number cards and place them in an upside down pile. 
  3. Flip over the top card. Say the number.
  4. Make 4 piles of that numbers. (ex: if you flipped over a 7, make four piles of 7)
  5. Then flip over the next card. Transform those 4 piles into the new number. 
    • If you had piles of 7 and flipped over a 5, then you would take away 2 items from each pile. 
  6. Move through the whole deck of cards.
